Umesh has a Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences with over 20 years of rich product development experience in pharmaceutical industry. He heads technical operations at Neovant with focus on drug product development and CMC for oral solid, liquid and parenteral formulations. He worked for over two decades in pharmaceutical companies such as Dr. Reddy’s, Ranbaxy, Ferring Pharma, Zydus Cadila in different capacities as scientist and subsequently in leadership roles with strong lab to commercial scale visibility. Prior to joining Neovant, he was leading Piramal Formulation Development Centre at Ahmedabad as Site Head and Director. Over this journey he gained extensive and diverse experience in development of modified release, delayed release, multparticulate, orally disintegrating tablet, solubility enhanced, fixed dose combination (FDC), NCE Phase I/II/III, 505j (P1/2/3/4) and 505b2 formulations with various level of complexities based on different process platforms such as Wurster coating, pelletization, single and bilayer compression, encapsulation, hot melt extrusion, spray drying. Dr. Vishakh Kharat

Vishakh has a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry with over 20 years of rich product development experience in pharmaceutical industry. He heads Scientific operations at Neovant with focus on design and development of drug product for parenteral, oral solid and liquid formulations, analytical and material characterization. He worked for over two decades in pharmaceutical companies such as Dr. Reddy’s, Pfizer, Mylan, in different capacities as scientist and subsequently in leadership roles with strong scientific skillset. Before joining Neovant, he was leading Piramal Formulation Development Centre at Ahmedabad for preformulation, material science and analytical sciences and at Mumbai for sterile product development and peptide stream as a Director. He has extensive and diversified experience in material characterization, sterile product development of sustained release injectables, lyophilised products, nano suspensions and nano emulsions, nanoparticles of small and large molecules including polypeptides and analytical development of formulations with various level of complexities. He possesses strong understanding and experience of solubility enhancement of poorly soluble molecules. He holds over 17 US, EU Patent’s, PCT applications and research articles to credit.
